Squint

Category Eye Care

Squint is a condition where the eyes are misaligned. One eye turns inward, up, down, or outward while the other focuses on a point. Squint can occur all the time or intermittently. This usually happens because the muscles that control eye and eyelid movement, the extraocular muscles, are not working together.

As a result, both eyes cannot look at the same place at the same time. It can also happen because a brain disorder means the eyes can't coordinate properly. Squint also makes binocular vision impossible, making it more difficult for the person to appreciate depth perception.
